This toolkit is primarily designed for civil society organisations (CSOs) working on issues of statelessness, nationality rights, and related human rights concerns across Africa. While its main focus is on advocacy around the Protocol to the African Charter on Human And Peoples’ Rights Relating to the Specific Aspects of the Right to a Nationality and the Eradication of Statelessness in Africa (the ACHPR Protocol on the Right to a Nationality), it is also a valuable resourcefor broader efforts to address statelessness and promote the right to a nationality more generally. CSOs are encouraged to adapt and use the toolkit to support and strengthen community-led advocacy by grassroots organisations and affected communities.
